Adventurer II's History In 2008 Baldwin Adventure Tours decided to build a boat to brave the 239 rapids between Wanganui and Taumarunui. We wanted to give travellers the opportunity to experience yesteryears river travel as thousands of people did decades ago. The Adventurer II is a tunnel hull vessel, capable of navigating knee deep water while carrying passengers and luggage. Adventurer II Length: - 64ft (19.5m) The Adventurer II is a boat of a similar design to the most successful boat to work the shallow upper reaches of the Whanganui River, the Wai-iti II, which was launched in 1911.
